What: Grand opening of Thrive Studio

Where: 191 River St.

When: July 28, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

A new approach to fitness, nutrition and well-being is now available to Chattanoogans. Thrive Studio, located in the former Rock Creek Down Under North Shore space at 191 River St., offers the latest in indoor cycling, fitness classes, yoga, personal training, nutritional coaching and healthy food options.

"Thrive is a unique, fun and positive approach for people who want to maximize their well-being," Kim Gavin, co-owner of Thrive Studio, said. "We have created a very distinctive place offering a diverse menu of exercise options along with nutritional support. Thrive Studio delivers an innovative approach that not only balances exercise, nutrition and attitude but does so in a flexible and very personalized way. Our goal is to build healthy bodies and happy minds.”

Unlike traditional fitness facilities, Thrive Studio offers flexibility and choice as opposed to membership fees. There are no monthly initiation fees or monthly dues. Clients can drop in for one class, purchase special packages or take advantage of unlimited monthly specials, officials said.

"There is nothing cookie-cutter about what we provide; we develop custom programs for clients, taking into account their current fitness level and goals. Our philosophy is that being healthy should be uncomplicated, fun and never boring,” Anna Mercer, co-owner, said.

Thrive's indoor cycling room is a high-energy environment with lights and sounds to get people motivated and moving, according to Mercer.  The studio is built on risers so that everyone has a good view of the instructor and the projection screen.

Thrive is the only place in Chattanooga with Real Ryder bikes, a revolutionary experience for indoor cycling that engages more muscles, burns more calories and offers the closest thing to being on a real bike, officials said.

Thrive Studio is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Thrive Café also offers nutritious food and customized coffee drinks featuring coffee from local roasters Velo and Stone Cup.

"Because we are committed to offering a balanced and customized approach to wellness, Thrive Studio also offers nutritional counseling along with a full complement of yoga classes and some very unique and challenging group fitness options. We invite anyone interested to give us a call, stop by, attend our grand opening and speak with our instructors," Gavin said.

The grand opening will offer hourly class demonstrations, giveaways and prizes, and trunk shows with Thrive vendors.
