Weston Wamp: "Dare"

In his sixth and final TV ad, Republican congressional candidate Weston Wamp asks voters to "dare" and support him in next week's 3rd District primary.

The 30-second spot, which begins airing today, features Wamp, the son of former 3rd District Rep. Zach Wamp, speaking directly to the camera. Although the candidate never mentions any of his opponents by name or details any of his positions on issues, Wamp suggests a vote for him will help "make the difference" in Washington, D.C.

"Now it's time to vote," Wamp says. "We can play it safe and embrace mediocrity and the failed status quo, or we can dare to work and sacrifice, to return to who we once were: dreamers and believers., the proud, the proud and United States of America. It's up to you."

Wamp is challenging Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, Ron Bhalla and Scottie Mayfield in the Republican primary. Dr. Mary Headrick and Bill Taylor are running as Democrats.

Early voting ends Saturday.

Primaries are Aug. 2.
