Nominations are being accepted through Oct. 1 for the second class of honorees to the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame.

The hall honors radio professionals who are either natives of Tennessee or who have worked in this state and have made significant contributions to its communities and the industry.

“Our goals are simple: honor those who preceded us and who gave Tennessee its rich radio heritage," TRHOF President Ralph Vaughan said. "Our first class of inductees included people like Jackson native Wink Martindale and legendary University of Tennessee sportscaster John Ward, who have had impact both in their local communities and on the national stage. It’s exciting to begin the process again to see who the next class will be.”

The Tennessee Hall of Fame accepts nominations for individual honorees in two categories:

—Legacy: Radio professionals from the state of Tennessee or radio professionals who have worked in the state of Tennessee who have made substantial contributions to the radio industry and the communities that their station(s) or network(s) served and who are deceased at the time of their election.

—Career achievement: Radio professionals from the state of Tennessee or radio professionals who have worked in the state of Tennessee who made substantial contributions to the radio industry and the communities that their station(s) or network(s) served and who are living at the time of their election.

The Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame also recognizes one legendary station each year. The 2012 honoree was WSM-AM in Nashville.
