Rains wash Tennessee Amateur, but Jackson still on top

KNOXVILLE — The third round of the Tennessee Amateur at Cherokee Country Club was washed out by heavy rain on Thursday. Play will resume on Friday with second-round leader Tim Jackson still possessing a four-shot lead.

Jackson shot even par through nine holes before the rain came. He opened the tournament with a 66 on Tuesday and followed that 64 for his 10 under par total.

At 10-under-par for the tournament, Jacksonis  four shots clear of Will Pearson and Lexus Keoninh, both of Memphis.

Steve Johnson of Lookout Mountain was tied for 10^th as the third round began. UTC golfer Davis Bunn was tied for 13^th.
