PENSACOLA, Fla. — The Chattanooga Lookouts took a 2-0 first-inning lead, but scored only one more run the rest of the way in a 7-3 loss to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos in Southern League baseball action on Sunday.

The star of the game for Pensacola was shortstop Billy Hamilton, the leadoff hitter who went 3 for 4 with three RBI. His big hit of the night, a sixth-inning triple, scored teammates Anthony Jackson and Brodie Greene and gave the Blue Wahoos a 6-2 lead.

Pensacola managed 11 hits off three Lookouts pitchers. Starter Chris Reed (0-3) took the loss.

Pensacola starter Wirfin Obispo (5-0), allowed those early Chattanooga runs but still last six innings and got the win. Justin Freeman pitched an inning and a third to pick up his 13th save.

The Lookouts’ first-inning runs came after Anthony Jackson led off the game with a single to center and was moved to second by Nick Bass’ sacrifice bunt. J.T. Wise’s single to center scored Jackson, but Wise was thrown out trying to reach second.

Brahiam Maldonado followed with his sixth home run of the season, and the inning ended with C.J. Retherford striking out swinging.

The Lookouts return home on Tuesday for a five-game home stand against the Jacksonville Suns. During the series, the Lookouts will sponsor UTC Night/High School Football Night on Aug. 16. Mocs football coach Russ Huesman will throw out the first pitch.

On Aug. 18, it’s Dr Pepper College Football Night. Fans will have a chance to win a pair of tickets to see Alabama vs. Tennessee, Auburn vs. New Mexico, Tennessee vs. Kentucky, Tennessee vs. Georgia (two pairs), Alabama vs. Florida Atlantic, Georgia vs. Georgia Tech, and the SEC Championship game.
