Since opening for the season over the Memorial Day weekend, Warner Park Pool and Spray Park has seen more than 22,000 visitors and hosted more than 70 birthday parties.

Those numbers equate to nearly 300 visitors a day, despite a rainy July and declining numbers at many pools and aquatic centers across the country.

Warner Park will continue to operate Friday through Sunday until Sept. 30, making it the longest season ever for the park.

“We are glad to have such a high demand,” Eric Jelinski, assistant director of recreation, said. “Due to record highs this year both in temperature and attendance, the Parks and Recreation Department has listened to the desire of the citizens to extend the Spray and Play hours through September. We're thrilled to offer another great recreational outlet for weekends through September, while it's still so warm.”

Beginning Aug. 17, the park hours will be Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (spray park only) and Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 to 5 p.m. (pool and spray park). Both the pool and spray park will also be open from 12:30 until 5 p.m. on Labor Day.

Birthday party rentals at the park will still be available through Sept. 30.

Park prices are $3 for adults, $2 for children older than 2, and free for those 2 and younger.
