Village Volkswagen River Gorge Omnium will take place Saturday
In addition to the Southern Brewers Festival and an array of other events, the Village Volkswagen River Gorge Omnium is back this weekend.
Racer and former race director Nick Nichols said the event will be centered downtown around Miller Plaza.
Races take place all day, with "fast racing" starting at 5 p.m. The pro races start at 8 p.m.
"We've got the current USA national champ coming in for it and a lot of heavy hitters from around the country," Nichols said via email.
He also said there will be plenty of time for people to visit the brewers festival and the races.
"It's going to be a really good time," he said. "[It's] family-friendly, all the food trucks will be there, beer trucks, etc. Last year was a huge success, and we want more spectators this year to check it out."
