CNE, AVA announce second annual My Neighborhood Rocks video contest

The Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise and the Association for Visual Arts have announced the second annual My Neighborhood Rocks video contest. This year, the competition will focus on the theme of play to highlight how residents play in their neighborhoods.

A kickoff event will be held on Monday, Aug. 27 at AVA, located at 30 Frazier Ave., at 5:30 p.m. to inform neighborhood associations of the new theme, as well as the new feature of this year’s contest: a mentor program comprised of local video professionals.

Video submissions can be five minutes or less and must be from neighborhoods residing in the Chattanooga city limits. Neighborhood associations can upload their videos to CNE’s Facebook page beginning Monday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 19. The community can begin voting for their favorite videos starting on Monday, Oct. 22. The top five videos with the highest number of votes will move on to the judging portion of the competition, where a panel will decide the top three winners of the competition.

CNE and AVA will announce the contest winners on Friday, Nov. 9. Neighborhood associations are vying for up to $5,000 in prize money. Two additional prizes will also be awarded.
