Nate Tenbrink singled in the top of the ninth to bring home the winning run in a 5-4 Jackson win over Chattanooga in Southern League baseball action on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Field.

Chattanooga scored first in the third inning. Rafael Ynoa reached on a walk, and Jake Lemmerman followed with a triple to give the Lookouts an early 1-0 lead.

Jackson quickly countered in the fourth with a run of their own. With one out, Stefan Romero reached first on a throwing error by third baseman C.J. Retherford. After stealing second, Romero sprinted home on a Mike Zunio single to tie the score, 1-1.

The Lookouts reclaimed the lead in the fifth. With the bases loaded, two outs, and a full-count, Bobby Coyle ripped a triple to left to put the Lookouts up, 4-1.

Jackson, once again, matched the Lookouts with three runs in the sixth inning. A two-run homer from Brad Miller and a solo shot by Stefan Romero accounted for the damage.

The game remained tied until the ninth, when Jackson manufactured the winning run. Joseph Dunigan led off with a single off Jose Dominguez (0-1). Francisco Martinez then entered the game as a pinch-runner for Dunigan. Jesus Sucre followed with a bunt, but the ball slipped out of Dominguez’s hand on the throw to first, allowing Sucre to reach.

Denny Almonte then laid down a bunt to advance both runners into scoring position. Nate Tenbrink followed with a bloop single to left field to score the go-ahead run.

Logan Bawcom shut down the Lookouts in the ninth to earn his 18th save.

Yoervis Medina (5-5), who pitched the eighth inning for the Generals, was credited with the win.

The Lookouts and Generals will continue their five-game series at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
