MTV Network's college-centric channel, mtvU, is looking for an ambitious and energetic student in Tennessee to interview mega pop star Justin Timberlake.
Send name, age, contact information, hometown, school and major.
Include your explanation of why you should be chosen to interview Justin Timberlake.
Include a photo of yourself.
Send all of the above to serita.wesley@viacommix.com.
Casting director Serita Wesley sent out an announcement Wednesday afternoon, saying that the network was in search of someone from Timberlake's home state who is sharp enough to keep up with his "quick-witted persona."
The interview will be used during an upcoming on-air segment called "#ASK."
According to the website, questions for "#ASK" are submitted via email, Twitter, Facebook or personal video and delivered in-person and on-camera by a college student. Recent "#ASK" interviews have been conducted with filmmaker Tim Burton, comedian Kevin Hart and supermodel Tyra Banks.
The ideal candidate is a journalism student, Wesley said, but could be any upbeat young person studying music or acting who wants to try their hand at a real celebrity interview. All grade levels are encouraged to apply, but applicants must be a Tennessee native.
Although anyone inspired by Timberlake's career as a singer, entrepreneur and actor is encouraged to apply for the opportunity to have a one-on-one interview with the star, Wesley said they are not searching for a superfan to fill the post.
"Please keep in mind this is not a contest to find Justin's biggest fan. We are looking for those who are sharp and energetic," Wesley said in an email.
The winning candidate will be featured on the air with Timberlake and be seen by a potential viewing audience of nearly 9 million college students. The Emmy and Peabody Award-winning, 24-hour college television network is aired in campus dining areas, fitness centers, student lounges and dorm rooms of colleges across the United States. It is also distributed via cable.
