The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera chorus will hold auditions for the upcoming season Sept. 21 at 6 p.m.
The auditions will take place in the Tivoli Theatre's dance studio.
The CSO chorus is a volunteer chorus that is devoted to creating exceptional music, officials said. It has been in performance for more than 50 years and ranges in repertoire from "La Boheme" to the music of Queen.
For the 2012-13 season, the chorus will perform at a Veterans Day concert in November, the annual Home for the Holidays concert in December and the Verdi "Requiem" in March.
The CSO chorus has been led by Darrin Hassevoort, the director of choruses, for more than 10 seasons. He is an associate professor of music at Chattanooga State and the interim dean of the Humanities and Fine Arts Department.
Interested singers should prepare two contrasting selections, with one preferably in a foreign language, although that is not mandatory, officials said. An accompanist will be provided.
