DULUTH, Ga. — The Chattanooga men’s golf team is in fifth place after 36 holes of the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic Monday. UTC’s total of 590 is three behind Winthrop in third and two clear of UNC Greensboro in sixth and four in front of No. 7 Georgia in seventh.
Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.) led the Mocs with rounds of 71 and 73 for a 2-over par 144. He is tied for fifth one shot ahead of Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) who is tied for 10th at plus three (145).
Liam Johnston’s (Dumfries, Scotland) 146 (+5) included a level-par 71. Benni Weilguni (Langenlois, Austria) and Michael Monroe (Franklin, Tenn.) rounded out the team scoring at 154 and 157, respectively. Kory Webb (Knoxville, Tenn.) shot 156 playing as an individual.
Georgia Southern holds the team lead at one-over par 569. The Eagles lead Georgia State (581) by 12 and Mercer (585) by 16.
South Carolina’s Dykes Harbin is the individual leader at 4-under par at 138. Georgia Southern’s duo of Hayden Anderson and Scott Wolfes are tied for second at 141 (-1), while Peder Hermansson (Kennesaw State) is fourth at even.
