McCallie lacrosse players Brier Davis and Cam Linlsey signed letters of intent to continue their lacrosse careers at the collegiate level on Wednesday.
Davis signed with Hofstra University and Linsley signed with Roanoke College.
Davis, an attack, scored 88 goals and provided 20 assists last season. He was named a US Lacrosse All-American and was selected to the Tennessee Scholastic Lacrosse Association All-State and All-Region teams in 2011 and 2012.
“Brier is one of the most competitive players I have ever coached,” McCallie head coach Troy Kemp said. “He spent countless hours on the field and the wall to become one of the most prolific scorers in McCallie lacrosse history. Brier is a threat from every area of the field and a relentless rider who creates turnovers regularly.”
Linsley scored 21 goals, provided 11 assists, came up with 60 ground balls and won 57 percent of his face-offs in 2012. He was named to the Brine All-American team, TSLA All-Region and second-team All-State as a junior.
“(Linsley) has amazing lacrosse IQ and gives tremendous effort at all times,” Kemp said. “He can play attack or midfield when we need him. Cam is also an excellent face off man. His leadership on and off the field has been important for McCallie lacrosse. Roanoke College is getting a player who should be able to contribute immediately. Cam’s best lacrosse is ahead of him.”
The Hofstra Pride competes in the Colonial Athletic Association, while the Roanoke Maroons are members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
