Friday, Life Care at Home announced that it had been named a Top Agency of the 2012 HomeCare Elite, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States.
Now in its seventh year, the HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified agencies. The organization also highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall. Winners are ranked by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, process measure implementation, patient experience, quality improvement and financial performance, officials said.
All three Life Care at Home agencies in Tennessee-in Chattanooga, Cleveland and Ducktown-received the distinction.
Life Care at Home agencies in Arizona, Colorado and Massachusetts also earned this honor.
“The 2012 HomeCare Elite winners demonstrate a commitment to providing patient-centered care and serving as leaders in the home health community,” Susan L. Henricks, president and COO of National Research Corporation, the parent company of OCS HomeCare, said in a prepared statement. “Their success offers data-driven proof of being well-managed and high-quality care providers to hospitals, managed care organizations, accountable care organizations and other potential referral partners across the health care continuum. Again, this year, we updated our methodology to reflect the rapidly evolving quality-focused healthcare landscape and national value-based purchasing trends. We congratulate Life Care at Home on being recognized as a top home care agency.”
Chris Mitchell, CEO of Life Care Home Health, credits the agency’s staff commitment to quality patient care.
“Our dedicated caregivers put patients first and live the mission of helping families every day,” Mitchell said in a prepared statement.
