Chattanooga’s women’s basketball team moved up two spots in the Mid-Major Top 25 to third place with 661 points, and the Lady Mocs are still receiving votes in both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll.

In the AP Top 25 Poll, UTC received seven votes while in the USA Today Coaches Poll the Lady Mocs received nine votes.

In the NCAA statistics, Chattanooga is ranked in the Top 50 in eight categories and sub-100 in six others. With a SoCon-leading 1.15 assist-turnover ratio, the Lady Mocs are ranked 15th in the nation and 16th in turnovers per game (13.7) after committing just five in last week’s game against Jacksonville State. Chattanooga is ranked 17th in the win-loss category with a winning percentage of 88.9 percent (8-1).

The Lady Mocs’ scoring offense (75.0 ppg) is ranked 22nd in the nation and they’ve outscore opponents by an average 18 points per game, 25th best among all NCAA Division I schools. UTC leads the Southern Conference in 3-point shooting with 7.4 per game and that is 24th in the country.


Chattanooga travels to take on Auburn on Wednesday. The Lady Mocs are 8-1 on the year, and 2-0 against the Southeastern Conference with wins over then-No. 20Tennessee and Alabama.
