UTC and Flowrestling.org have partnered to bring extensive live coverage of the 2013 Southern Scuffle, presented by Defense Soap.
The tournament takes place in Chattanooga’s McKenzie Arena on Jan. 1-2, featuring 23 teams and more than 300 of the top collegiate wrestlers in the country.
The broadcast is available to all Flowrestling Tech Wave members. Subscriptions can be purchased on an annual basis for $150 ($12.50/month).
Fans wanting to see just the Southern Scuffle can purchase a monthly subscription for $20.
“We are excited about partnering with Flowrestling,” said UTC head wrestling coach Heath Eslinger. “We want as many wrestling fans at the event as possible, but this allows us to better reach fans from all over the country.
“Flowrestling is a strong brand in the wrestling community and I know they will provide excellent coverage of our marquee event.”
Last year, GoMocs.com streamed just the finals, but Flowrestling will greatly expand that coverage for the 2013 tournament. Competition on day one takes place on eight mats. Flowrestling will have four cameras covering selected matches throughout the day, with full coverage of the quarterfinals beginning at 6:30 p.m. (E.D.T).
Day two moves to a four-mat setup, allowing Flowrestling to cover every match through the finals.
“The Southern Scuffle is the toughest tournament this side of the NCAA championships,” said Martin Floreani, co-Founder of Flowrestling.org. “Coach Eslinger has done an amazing job building this tournament into a can’t-miss event. It was a no brainer for Flowrestling to partner with UTC athletics and its wrestling team to showcase the event. We are beyond excited about watching Penn State, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Cornell, Mizzou and many other top programs battle for team and individual titles at the Southern Scuffle.”
