A new business is coming to Chattanooga, and NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick will be in town for the opening.
The new store means about 50-60 extra jobs for the local community.
On. Feb. 13 at 9 a.m. Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, 5768 Brainerd Road in the old Office Depot at the Brainerd Village Shopping Center, will open its doors.
The first 250 fans will have the chance to meet Harvick, and officials encourage anyone who wants to have that opportunity to arrive early.
They will begin distributing tickets at 7:30 a.m. on a first-come-first-served basis. And there is a ticket limit of one per person.
At 10 a.m., fans can meet him, get an autograph and have a picture taken.
“We are excited to open our third store in the great state of Tennessee, where the folks have been so good to us,” Mark Butler, president and CEO of Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, said in a prepared statement. “I couldn’t be happier to have Kevin Harvick join our team at the grand opening. He has been a longtime friend and supporter of Ollie’s, and we’re glad that fans in Chattanooga will have the opportunity to meet him at our grand opening.”
This year is Harvick’s 13th season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. In 2012, he finished the season with one win, five top five and 14 top 10 finishes, according to a news release.
He earned an eighth-place ranking in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver point standings, which was his third consecutive top 10 finish in the championship standings.
“I really enjoy interacting with fans,” Harvick said in a prepared statement. “I’m especially excited to meet some of the country’s greatest NASCAR fans in Tennessee. Ollie’s is a great company, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the grand opening of their newest store in Chattanooga.”
