The TNStars College Savings 529 Program, a tax-advantaged college savings plan to help loved ones and friends support educational needs of soon-to-be college students, is announcing the What’s Your Game Plan? promotion to give away tickets to the semifinal games and final game of the 2013 Southeastern Conference men’s basketball tournament.
The tournament will be played at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and a winner will be selected at random to receive a family pack of four tickets to the final three games in the tournament. The winner will be announced on the program's Facebook page on March 6.
No purchase is required to enter.
“The SEC tournament is a high-profile event that offers us the chance to reach a large audience which values higher education,” Treasurer David H. Lillard Jr. said in a prepared statement. “The TNStars College Savings 529 Program offers a low-cost way to save for children’s college expenses with attractive investment options and special tax advantages.”
The Treasury Department is also offering a $50 match for the first $50 invested in each new account and a $100 incentive for each account holder who rolls over an account balance from another college savings plan into TNStars.
Participation in the TNStars Program is open to anyone, including people living in other states, but these incentives are only offered to Tennessee residents.
