Rep. Scott DesJarlais will welcome citizens to his Bradley County district office today, hosting a picnic-style lunch from 12 to 1 p.m.
The office, one of two “flagship” offices for the congressman, was recently opened in Cleveland after portions of Bradley County became a part of the 4th District during last year’s redistricting process.
The office is located at 301 Keith St., Suite 212, in Cleveland.
The congressman, who is up for re-election in 2014, has spent parts of this week hosting events at his offices across the district, including a recent open house in Murfreesboro. Along with Murfreesboro and Bradley County, DesJarlais has smaller district offices in both Winchester and Columbia.
Robert Jameson, spokesman for DesJarlais, said the congressman planned to maintain a “constant presence” at the Bradley County office.
“Bradley County is an important part of the 4th District, and that will be reflected in the decisions that the congressman makes,” Jameson said.
Jameson added that along with general constituent services, the office would serve as a place for citizens to receive assistance in federal case work.
