Wine Spectator magazine has recognized several Chattanooga businesses in its 2015 Restaurant Wine List Awards.

212 Market, Easy Bistro & Bar, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and St. John’s Restaurant all received the Award of Excellence.

“We work really hard to have a great wine list,” 212 Market owner Sally Moses said Thursday.

Those local restaurants were included with more than 3,600 establishments the magazine recognized worldwide.

“With this year’s list spanning all 50 U.S. states and over 75 additional countries and territories, we hope wine lovers will use this issue, alongside WineSpectator.com’s Restaurant Awards database, as guides to finding the perfect restaurant for any occasion,” Wine Spectator Editor and Publisher Marvin R. Shanken said in a prepared statement.

Chattanooga’s restaurants were among 2,563 that earned the program’s Award of Excellence, which recognizes wine lists that offer diverse and interesting selections, are well-presented, and match the restaurants’ styles and cuisines.

Easy Bistro & Bar co-owner and chef Erik Niel said he is pleased with the award and that the magazine is a “big deal.”

“As with any award, it’s always nice to be recognized for doing something well,” he also said.

The complete list of winners will be featured in the Aug. 31 issue of Wine Spectator, which will be available July 21.

All the restaurants can be found in WineSpectator.com’s Restaurant Search, which allows users to find information about wine selections, cuisine, prices, key staff and more.
