More than 60 locations throughout the country-including Murfreesboro-will participate in an attempt to break a world record for the largest number of people to simultaneously skinny-dip.

At 3 p.m. (Eastern time) on Saturday, participants are invited to unclothe at specific locations throughout the country and enter the water. The event is sponsored by the American Association for Nude Recreation, which has promoted “wholesome, family-style nude recreation” for 85 years.

More information is available here.

The group is seeking to break a 2009 record of 13,648 simultaneous skinny-dippers throughout North America.

Locally, enthusiasts (or first-time dippers) are encouraged to participate at the Rock Haven Lodge in Murfreesboro. According to a release from AANR, first-time skinny-dippers will be welcome and shyness can be accommodated. However, all participants must be completely nude during the actual skinny-dip. Membership is not required to participate.

The Rock Haven Lodge is a family nudist park located 10 minutes from I-24 in Rutherford County.
