You voted and it's official: Chattanooga is the Best Town Ever.
The Best Town Ever edition of Outside magazine has been released, highlighting Chattanooga as the winner of the national contest.
In an article called "The Best 16 Places to Live in America in 2015," Chattanooga is profiled for beating out Port Angeles, Washington—which is also profiled in the magazine—with 129,562 votes.
The Chattanooga Convention and Visitors Bureau announced yesterday that Chattanooga will be featured on "The Today Show" on Aug. 27.
In addition to a brief profile listing the many reasons Chattanooga won—outdoor activities, thriving neighborhoods, breweries, cuisine, Internet speeds, business development, etc.—the magazine also gives an overview of what 48 hours in the city might look like.
The guide, written by Graham Averill, features an informative video and an hour-by-hour guide to spending a weekend in Chattanooga. Local businesses such as Velo Coffee, Taqueria Jalisco, Two Ten Jack, The Flying Squirrel, Urban Stack and The Farmer's Daughter are visited.
In addition to Port Angeles, Chattanooga also beat out Roanoke, Virginia; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Beaufort, South Carolina; Boone, North Carolina; and Bar Harbor, Maine.
