Craft beer market The Casual Pint is coming to Hixson.
“The Hixson community has needed something unique to keep people in the city, rather than driving 20 or 30 minutes to Chattanooga,” co-owner Judy Kearnaghan said in a prepared statement. “We are all about investing in this area, so when the opportunity to run our own craft beer retail market came up, we jumped at the opportunity to contribute and grow the craft beer scene in our town.”
This is the second area location of the franchise. There’s already another market on Cherokee Boulevard.
Kearnaghan and her husband, Dan, are aiming to open during the second quarter of 2016 and are currently in the developmental stage.
Plans include to have a coffee shop atmosphere with more than 400 in-house beer varieties. Customers will also be able to take brews to go by the bottle, can, growler, keg or pint.
The Hixson store will be the franchise’s 14th location nationwide.
Based in Knoxville, the first store, located at Interstate 40 and Papermill Drive, opened in 2011.
In 2013, The Casual Pint began franchising. The first six franchise locations opened in 2014, according to a news release.
“The love of craft beer continues to grow in our country and the spike in industry growth proves that,” The Casual Pint President and CEO Nathan Robinette said in a prepared statement. “Wherever our business owners pop up, they bring a devotion to craft beer and the community, making our business model ideal for almost anyone.”
