Three new Juice Bar franchises-one in North Chattanooga, one in Hixson and one near Gunbarrel Road-are opening in Chattanooga soon.
“The way I describe [Juice Bar] is it’s an eat-healthy, feel-great type of place,” district manager Asa Swift said.
Juice Bar operates in more than a dozen states, but each store aims to fit into the local community. For example, leaders try to work with area vendors on some products sold in the stores.
The stores have smoothies, essential oil shots, healthy snacks and customizable juice options.
Swift said that the customized juice option sets the business apart from similar ones. If a customer wants juice made from one carrot, one cucumber and one celery stick, employees will make that, he said.
And leaders said that the expansion into Chattanooga is an ideal fit for the market.
“Chattanooga being such an outdoor community, we thought having Juice Bar coming to this area would be a great fit,”Swift also said.
Each new store is about 1,200 square feet and will employ about 10 people.
The grand opening of the North Shore location, 502 N. Market St., behind Publix, is slated for Dec. 16.
The location is pretty much complete, but leaders are waiting on some equipment, North Chattanooga store general manager Hannah Snyder said.
Juice Bar is a place to get grab-and-go drinks or eats, but there’s also seating available.
“I would love for this to be a place where students can come study and where businesspeople can have meetings,” Snyder said.
Leaders are still doing interviews for the Hixson location, although they are mostly staffed up.
“We are working on getting the best teams possible so we can provide the best customer service,” Hixson location general manager Brandi Ladd said.
The grand opening is scheduled for Jan. 6 at 5546 Highway 153.
Ladd, who studied nutrition at the University of Tennessee, said she’s looking forward to informing customers who want to know more about juicing, losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight.
“We really want to educate the community on all the benefits of juicing and all the superfoods we have,” she said.
TheGunbarrellocation is slated to open Jan. 20.
This store is located at 7407 Igou Gap Road, near Orangetheory Fitness.
“We’ve got more of a fitness crowd,”general managerKennedy Kauffman said.
She worked in the Knoxville market with Juice Bar for nearly two years before coming here, and she said one of the best parts of the job is getting to know the customers.
Customer service is a top priority, all the leaders said.
“All of us bring our own personality to the table,” Kennedy said. “A big part of … Juice Bar is enjoying work and playing upbeat music [in the store]. We love to see our regular customers. That’s my favorite thing.”
