Gillian Welch at Tivoli Theatre
Americana darling Gillian Welch returns to Chattanooga for a concert at the Tivoli Theatre. Welch, along with David Rawlings, is on tour supporting a collection called "Boots No. 1: The Official Revival Bootleg." The album commemorates the 20th anniversary of Welch's "Revival" album, which skyrocketed the artist to fame. Tickets are still available for the show. Click here for more information. New Year's At Noon (for the little ones)
The Creative Discovery Museum will host their New Year's at Noon celebration Saturday. The annual event is limited to 1,000 people, so guests are encouraged to arrive by 11. Activities include a discussion about the passage of time, apple juice toast and a kazoo rendition of "Auld Lang Syne." The event will culminate with a confetti drop at noon. Party on the Bluff
Typically, the annual New Year's Eve gala on Chattanooga's south shore sells out well in advance, but as of Friday morning, tickets remain for the annual Party on the Bluff at the Hunter Museum of American Art. It's the most stylish party of the year, and it includes a night of dancing, an hors d'oeuvres buffet and a midnight champagne toast. OddStory Brewing grand opening
Why not have a grand opening of Chattanooga's newest brewery as the new year begins? OddStory Brewing Co. will unveil their new space on Martin Luther King Boulevard Dec. 31. This free event features special beers and treats from Dish T' Pass. The event is from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., and if you're 21 and up, you can party. Click here for more information.

UTC hosts Southern Scuffle wrestling tournament
On Sunday and Monday, UTC will host the Southern Scuffle wrestling tournament, presented by Compound Clothing. The event is considered the top in-season collegiate wrestling tournament in the nation. Gates open at 9 a.m. each day, and wrestling begins at 10 a.m. At least 23 teams are expected to attend, including No. 1-ranked Oklahoma State, Appalachian State, Missouri, Stanford, Cornell and more.
When: Sunday–Monday, Jan. 1–2, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.
