Sensory-Free Night at Creative Discovery Museum
The Creative Discovery Museum will host an evening for children with sensory sensitivity tonight. During the event, children and their families can explore the museum with a low-sensory environment that otherwise might not be possible during regular operational hours. All overhead announcements, food smells and other sensory inputs will be limited. The museum hosts Sensory-Free Night each month on the first Thursday. The event is limited to 100 participants. Hunter Museum: Art + Issues
The Hunter Museum of American Art hosts another Art + Issues event at 6 tonight. The showcase highlights an ongoing spoken word poetry series with a performance by writer, poet and creative director Erika Roberts-Blackmon. She will offer poetry inspired by the sculptures of Verina Baxter. Admission is free.
