Tennessee ranks as one of the least-educated states, according to a new report. 

The report from personal finance social network WalletHub.com ranked Tennessee No. 43 out of 50 states in overall education. 

Check out how the Volunteer State ranks:

  • 38th: Percent of high school diploma holders
  • 45th: Percent of associate degree holders or college-experienced adults
  • 41st: Percent of bachelor’s degree holders
  • 37th: Percent of graduate or professional degree holders
  • 35th: Average university quality
  • 33rd: Gender gap in educational attainment

In order to determine where the most-educated Americans live, WalletHub’s analysts compared the 50 states across 11 key metrics.
