Chattanooga Police Officer David Campbell has been fired for making an improper arrest, harassment and violation of the department’s vehicle use policy.

His termination came after an “extensive internal affairs investigation” and disciplinary hearing, according to a news release from CPD.

Campbell had been with the department since September 2010.

“[Police Chief Fred] Fletcher will not be commenting on this decision due to pending appeal by the terminated employee,” according to the news release.

In 2012, Campbell received a three-day suspension for another improper arrest that was caught on video, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
