Are you Chattanooga’s most talented singer?

The Chattanooga Girls Choir has announced the first Scenic City Sing-Off, which will take place throughout April.

The finals will take place May 4 at The Church on Main. Finalists will compete in a “The Voice”-style elimination event before a panel of judges. Those judges will determine the winner based on singing ability, appearance/stage presence and overall assessment.

Only 100 entries will be accepted, and the competition gets more heated as auditions progress.

Those 100 entries will be whittled to 18 competitors, who will be invited to perform at a live audition April 8. Nine finalists will advance to the grand finale.

Local singers are invited to audition for the competition. To be eligible, singers must register to audition, be at least 18 years old and have uploaded a solo a capella performance video by the March 24 deadline.

A registration fee of $25 is required. Click here for more information.

To add a little spice to the competition, fans will be given the opportunity to vote for one more competitor from those video entrants who did not make the final round. That contestant will be invited to join the final competition May 4.

Votes will be tallied based on likes on the Scenic City Sing-Off YouTube channel.

“We are so excited to start what we hope will be a Chattanooga tradition for years to come,” organizer Sarah Cate Patten said. “We know there are so many talented singers in our area, and we’re thrilled to provide a performance and competition opportunity like Scenic City Sing-Off.”

Tickets for the finale event will go on sale March 31. Admission will be $35 per person and include hors d’oeuvres, drinks and live entertainment.

All proceeds will benefit Chattanooga Girls Choir. Founded in 1987, CGR “offers vocal music education and performance opportunities to talented young women in the Chattanooga area.”
