Local gardeners and plant enthusiasts will soon have the opportunity to learn about and purchase native plants at Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center.
The 30th annual spring native plant sale will be April 21–22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Anyone who purchases a plant will also receive free admission to Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center for the day.
The event will include a variety of native species that visitors can add to their gardens, as well as education about the importance of using native plants.
All species available at the event are nursery-propagated plants. Many of the seeds are from wildflowers, woody shrubs and trees that grow on Lookout Mountain and surrounding local areas. This allows the area to keep a balanced ecosystem, whereas non-native species can become invasive and offset the food chain.
