A resort-style senior living community called Ashwood Square is breaking ground in Chattanooga next week.

The community, located at 7683 Shallowford Road, will have studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms and three-bedroom plans, starting at $2,900 a month.

The apartments range from 566 to 1,206 square feet.

Ashwood Square owner Resort Lifestyle Communitiesoffers an all-inclusive monthly rent that includes utilities, meals, flexible dining hours, weekly housekeeping, transportation, valet parking, live-in managers, a 24/7 emergency call system and concierge, entertainment options, and a guest suites travel program.

Residents will also have access to an in-house bank, pharmacy, movie theater, gift shop and salon-all of which will also be open to the public.

The total investment in the project is about $30 million,Resort Lifestyle Communitiesmarketing and sales director Kelly Jo Hinrichs said.

She also said they’re looking for vendor partners to fill the commercial space.

Residents who need home care can contract with their choice of providers.

The project is expected to be complete in 12 to 18 months, with a sales office and model units opening six months prior to completion.

The project’s groundbreaking is slated for March 21, and at that time, Ashwood Square officials areoffering potential residents the opportunity to join its charter resident program that allows them to select a specific apartment layout and location.

The program requires a $500 deposit and includes offers up to $3,000 in value, Hinrichs said.

Charter residents will receive a “pack-move-unpack” package, a new washer and dryer, a complimentary garage for six months and recognition at the grand opening.

The groundbreaking will kick off with a brief ceremony at which contractors, Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce members and local dignitaries will speak. That will be followed by lunch.

The event starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Outback Steakhouse at 2120 Hamilton Place Blvd.

“We believe in being part of the community at large,” Hinrichs said. “Everybody is welcome at the groundbreaking ceremony.”
