Son Volt at Revelry Room
Alt country powerhouse Son Volt returns to Chattanooga tonight to perform at Revelry Room for the first time. Lead singer-songwriter Jay Farra formed Son Volt following the end of Uncle Tupelo, a band he founded with Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy. Son Volt’s new album, “Notes of Blue,” was released Feb. 17 and has drawn rave reviews from fans of modern American music. The album is the band’s 20th album. Johnny Irion will open the show. Artist talk at Hunter Museum
The Hunter Museum of American Art has announced an exhibit highlighting art from 15 emerging young artists from across the United States, all of which are living with a disability. An opening reception will take place tonight at 6. Artist Kate Pincus-Whitney will speak on how making art can help those with a disability question societal perceptions and expectations, as well as discover a profound sense of self. The reception is free with museum entry.
