Families are invited to enjoy a day of “friendship and fun” when Thomas the Tank Engine visits Chattanooga’s Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.
Mattel presents Day Out With Thomas: The Friendship Tour 2017 at the museum April 22-23, April 29-30 and May 6-7.
According to a release, Day Out With Thomas is a “fun-filled event that provides children of all ages the opportunity to climb aboard and ride with Thomas.”
The event includes a train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, a chance to meet Sir Topham Hatt (the conductor), adventures in the Imagination Station and more. Select events may include Thomas’ best friend, Percy, as well.
This year’s theme is “set friendship in motion,” tying together content and social interaction to highlight the importance of first friendships and the development of key friendship skills in toddlers.
Tickets are on sale now for the experience. Admission is $24 per person, and a full schedule of events is available here.

Thomas is a fictional steam locomotive whose popularity stemmed from a series of storybooks, written from 1945 to 2011, by authors Rev. Wilber Awdry and his son, Christopher. The characters from “The Railway Series” became the basis for the popular British children’s television series “Thomas & Friends,” about a group of locomotives and road vehicles living on the Island of Sodor.
The TVRM is located at 4119 Cromwell Road. Rides are offered throughout the season. Click here for more information.
