A United States Bartenders' Guild contest seeks local entries for a national cocktail competition.
Make It Exotico is searching for cocktail recipes using Exotico blanco or reposado tequila as the base spirit. The winner could win a trip to Tales of the Cocktail 2017 in New Orleans, along with an all-expenses-paid trip to Jalisco, Mexico, to the Exotico distillery.
USBG judges will narrow down entries to 10 semifinalists, who will compete in one of six competition cities, including Nashville.
Online applications are now being accepted. The deadline for submissions is April 7.
It's open to all U.S. bartenders. Click here for more information.
If selected for the semifinal events, participants will each have seven minutes to create their cocktails at one of the six competition events. Cocktails will be judged on appearance, aroma, creativity, taste and overall impression.
One winner will be determined at each event.
The Nashville competition will take place April 18.
A variety of recipes including Exotico is available here.
Local chapters of USBG host cocktail competitions, sponsor seminars and forge relationships with top bar talent in more than 50 cities. Members are encouraged to compete, travel around the world and spread knowledge in the pursuit of elevating cocktail culture.
