A weeklong celebration of teachers at Barnes & Noble Hamilton Place includes a variety of events, discounts and more.

During April 1-9, K-12 education will be offered 25 percent off their personal shopping, including books, music, DVDs and more. They will also have the opportunity to win gift baskets and other prizes.

Guests will learn how to paint like the late Bob Ross; meet Tricycle, a three-legged golden retriever; and more.

Customers who mention the librarians from Hamilton County Department of Education at checkout will be donating a portion of the purchase to benefit the librarians. Guests can also enter the code “12102257” online between April 6 and 13.

Oldies and Goodies
Authors Roslynne Steinberg, Jerry Summers and Jim Wells-all over the age of 70-will discuss why they decided to write books. Each author will sign copies of their books, and customers can win a painting Steinberg created for the event.

When: Saturday, April 1, 3 p.m.

Bob Ross Day
Artist Mickey Cline will demonstrate the painting style of Bob Ross during the event. Cline is the owner of Happy Life Paintings and a certified instructor in the Ross tradition. During the event, guests can view a Bob Ross triptych that will be presented to the public for the first time.

Tricycle, the three-legged golden retriever
The children’s book “Tricycle and Friends” teaches children the lesson of not letting anything stop you from doing what you desire. Tricycle himself will be at the event with his owner, Lester Aradi, who owns Horse Creek Stable animal rescue and sanctuary in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Click here for more information.
