Chattanooga based outdoor outfitter, Rock/Creek, is partnering with Erlanger Sports Medicine as the official medical provider for the 2017 Rock/Creek Trail Race Series.
The Erlanger Sports Medicine and Rock/Creek partnership will provide injury prevention education and on-site medical support for event participants. In addition, Rock/Creek and Erlanger will address the benefits of healthy outdoor lifestyles through community events.
“Participation in outdoor recreation is growing as Chattanooga gains national recognition as a world-class outdoor recreation destination,” Co-owner of Rock/Creek Chad Wykle said in a prepared statement. “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Erlanger Sports Medicine in order to provide our event participants with the highest level of medical expertise and treatment available.”
The 2017 Rock/Creek Trail Race Series exists to promote the health and lifestyle benefits of outdoor recreation and raise awareness and financial support for local trail conservation organizations such as the Tennessee River Gorge Trust, S.O.R.B.A., the Lula Lake Land Trust, the Cumberland Trail Conference, Friends of the Cumberland Trail, and Wild Trails, according to a news release.
“Rock/Creek has established itself as the preeminent leader in outdoor recreation in the Chattanooga region,” Erlanger Sports Medicine Physician Dr. Bill Moore Smith said. “Establishing a partnership with the region’s leading sports medicine providers is a win-win for both organizations.”
