The results for District 7 City Council are as follows:

  • Chris M. Anderson – 628 (46 percent) –Incumbent
  • Write-in – 4 (0 percent)

In total, there were 1,372 votes cast in this race.

The results for District 9 City Council are as follows:

  • DemetrusCoonrod – 700 (60 percent)
  • Yusuf A. Hakeem – 467 (40 percent) –Incumbent
  • Write-in – 2 (0 percent)

In total, there were 1,169 votes cast in this race.

Shortly after polls closed at 7 p.m., the Hamilton County Election Commission released early vote results-which include military, nursinghomeand absentee ballots. Below are early vote results for Chattanooga’s City Council runoff election for Districts 7 and 9.

Note: These are not final results. Complete election results will follow later in the evening.

The early voteresults for District 7 City Council are as follows:

  • Chris M. Anderson – 182 (51 percent)
  • Erskine Oglesby Jr. – 176 (49 percent)
  • Write-in – 1 (0 percent)

In total, there were 359 votes cast earlyin this race.

The early voteresults for District 9 City Council are as follows:

  • DemetrusCoonrod – 257 (59 percent)
  • Yusuf A. Hakeem – 176 (40 percent)
  • Write-in – 2 (0 percent)

In total, there were 435 votes cast earlyin this race.

Before 7 p.m.

Polls close at 7 p.m. EST in Chattanooga, and with them, the first wave of election results will be released from early voting for the runoff election for City Council in Districts 7 and 9.
