CHI Memorial has introduced an app that gives users a turn-by-turn directional guide for the Chattanooga campus.
The CHI Memorial app includes inside maps for all floors of the main hospital, according to the news release.
The maps include points of interest for key locations such as cardiac services, the outpatient lab, elevators, eateries, restrooms, nurses’ stations and the gift shop. Destination points on the maps feature pictures and details about which entrance and elevators to use.
The app utilizes scanable QR codes that have been placed throughout the entire facility, according to the news release. When one of these QR codes is scanned with the CHI Memorial app, it opens that point on the map, showing the user where he/she is.
Once the user selects a destination, the CHI Memorial app draws the path on the floor plan on the user’s smartphone and segments the path while providing turn-by-turn instructions for each step, according to the news release. The software will display what is on the left or right so the user can confirm he/she is going in the right direction.
The software picks the best path, including the correct elevators, and saves the user’s last route so he/she can reverse the path and navigate back to the entrance where he/she began, according to the news release.
The CHI Memorial app has many other features, such as a patient room finder, find a physician search and quick links to common destinations, according to the news release. To get the app, search for “CHI Memorial” in the App Store and download it for free.
The app was developed by Video Ideas Productions, a Chattanooga-based company, using PointsMap online mapping software, according to the news release.
