The music of Mannheim Steamroller has been a companion to the holidays for more than 30 years.

Created by percussionist Chip Davis, Mannheim Steamroller is a new age/symphonic rock band whose "Fresh Aire" album in 1975 laid the foundation for what would become a seven-album series.

Their first Christmas album, "Christmas," was released in 1984, and it features "Deck the Halls" and other now-classic holiday songs. The album would become one of the best-selling Christmas/holiday albums in the United States ever.

Subsequent albums—1988's "A Fresh Aire Christmas" and 1995's "Christmas in the Aire"—were both best-selling albums at the time of their release.
