800: Passageway Treasures art walk
The 800 Collective visits Neural Alley tonight to offer a “creative journey” associated with the AIA Tennessee/River City Co. project. Artists and collective founder Josiah Golson will offer a workshop in which participants will receive art materials and instructions on how to explore the space. According to the event description, each participant will “discover and discuss the magic of creative public animation and its place in our everyday lives and communities.” The 800 Collective is a diverse artist group that creates artistic experiences reflective of our communities and their social aims. Marcus King Band at Revelry Room
If you’ve never seen The Marcus King Band, you’ve been missing out on one of the best live bands in the business. Led by young songwriter, guitarist and singer Marcus King, the band mixes a “fiery brand of American roots music” that King himself describes as “soul-influenced psychedelic Southern rock.” Locals Jess Goggans Band will open the show at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15.
