Frank Ocean, The New Pornographers, Sylvan Esso and Jesca Hoop are among the year's top 10.

At the midway point of the year, music writers and various publications take a look at the year in music and choose their favorite tracks and albums so far.

Already, we've seen lists from Spin, Vulture and Consequence of SoundNME, Complex, National Public Radio and Gorilla vs. Bear have also released their picks.

I try to keep up with new music as best I can. My tastes tend to skew a little Americana and folk, with some lo-fi, post-punk and indie rock in the mix. I feel like I've got as capable an ear for "good" music as anybody. I'm not an expert, though; I just know what I like.

Most of the songs I come across will get dumped in the below Spotify playlist of favorite tracks of 2017. I've offered my list of favorite tracks so far below.

What would your top five or 10 favorite tracks look like? Help me (and anyone reading this) find some new favorites.

Here is my list in no particular order. I can pick 10, but ordering them is impossible. They're all great.

Cloud Nothings, "Things Are Right With You"

The New Pornographers, "Whiteout Conditions"
