Handbag and accessory store The Baggery has relocated inside its sister store, Chattanooga Shoe Co.
For three years, The Baggery operated separately, but owners Charlie and Courtnay McGinness decided to merge the two stores to provide a more convenient shopping experience.
Crews have renovated Chattanooga Shoe Co. over the past two months to make room for The Baggery.
Although The Baggery won’t carry all lines it has in the past, the “best brands,” such as Hobo, will remain, according to a news release.
Courtnay designed The Baggery, including elements such as vintage wallpaper, antique hanging glass lighting and custom-made woodwork throughout the store.
She’s looking forward to the changes but will miss what she created.
“I’m sad we can’t somehow incorporate these beautiful design elements inside Chattanooga Shoe Co.,” she said in a prepared statement.
Chattanooga Shoe Co. and The Baggery are located at 2 North Shore. The shoe store offers a collection of “comfort-based” imported footwear that typically comes from Spain, Portugal and Italy.
