Tennessee Republican U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander is preparing to perform at an East Tennessee music festival with Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine.

Alexander and Kaine, who was Hillary Clinton’s running mate in the 2016 presidential election, have a band called The Amateurs, which is slated to open the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion this weekend.

Alexander plays the piano, and Kaine plays the harmonica. The Bristol Herald Courier reported that the duo is expected to play a few songs with a full band, led by Amy Boucher.

Alexander started playing the piano as a child, and he told NPR that when he was Tennessee governor, he used music as a way to unify the state.

Alexander, who trained in classical piano, recorded the song “Tennessee Waltz” with Patti Page, whose original recording was a top seller, also according to NPR.
