This weekend’s Chattanooga City Celebration & Ciclovia will highlight several Chattanooga neighborhoods, including Highland Park and Ridgedale.

The Highland Park Community Festival will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at Highland Park Commons, located at 200 Union Ave. The festival will have a carnival atmosphere and feature circus-style performances and tricks from Southside Inversions Circus Arts & Performance Center, Chattanooga Roller Girls and more.

“The Chattanooga City Celebration & Ciclovia is all about connecting people, getting them out of their cars and out of their houses so they can get to know their neighbors and experience the wonderful diversity of our Chattanooga community,” according to a news release.

The block party will also feature string art activities, dance performances, music from The Bohannons and even an “adult lemonade stand” (AKA margaritas).

The fun continues at the Ridgedale neighborhood celebration, Art in the Alley. The two parties will run concurrently because of their close proximity to each other.

Taking advantage of the layout of the Ridgedale neighborhood, where many homes have garages facing a shared alleyway rather than the street, Art in the Alley asks residents to throw open garage doors and set up a party in the middle of the alley.

Music, pizza, beer, balloons, chalk art and games will highlight Art in the Alley.

Before the Highland Park and Ridgedale celebrations, there will be block parties at Bessie Smith Cultural Center and Stove Works. Click here for more about those two parties.
