Bike Chattanooga is adding its 38th station near the new downtown Westin.

The new station allows easy access to Chestnut Street and Broad Street, where newly installed streetscaping and bike lanes provide the public a route from the Southside to the Riverfront, according to a news release.

“This expansion is exciting, as it is the first in Chattanooga to be part of new development,” Ben Taylor with the Chattanooga Department of Transportation said in a prepared statement. “The Westin recognizes the convenience of bike share and made the decision to include a station as an amenity for their guests.”

The public can attend the grand opening of the station Nov. 15 at 4 p.m.

The Westin team will dock Westin-branded Bike Chattanooga bikes to open the new station, and a celebration will follow on the veranda with music and Bike Chattanooga giveaways, according to a news release.
