Want to take a plunge into freezing waters to start the new year?
The second annual Lula Lake Polar Plunge is scheduled for New Year’s Day, and tickets are still available.
All proceeds benefit Lula Lake Land Trust and its projects for the year.

At 1 p.m., participants will hike the short distance to the lake. All guests must wear shoes (closed-toe or Chacos). Each guest should also bring a towel.
The ticket price includes all-you-can-eat chili, bloody marys, spiked cider and hot chocolate. Food and beverages can also be purchased by spectators.
Temperatures on New Year’s Day are expected to be in the low 30s, with the low around 16 degrees.
Lula Lake Land Trust, established in 1994, “seeks to protect and preserve the natural beauty and abundant resources within the Rock Creek watershed for the benefit of present and future generations by fostering education, research and conservation stewardship of the land.”
