Tickets are still available for the premier collegiate wrestling event in the country, which takes place in Chattanooga next week.

The annual Southern Scuffle, presented by Compound Clothing, is set for Jan. 1–2 at McKenzie Arena on UTC’s campus.

Monday’s matches begin at 10 a.m. and end with the championship quarterfinals and consolations at 7:30 p.m. The action resumes Tuesday at 10 a.m. with championship and consolation matches throughout the day.


Tickets for the entire event in reserved seating are $60. Single-day tickets are $35. General admission seating for both days is $35, and single-day tickets are $20. Spectators can also purchase tickets for the finals only for $10 (reserved) or $7 (general admission).

According to a release from UTC, the field for the 2018 Southern Scuffle includes returning NCAA champions Penn State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Lehigh, Virginia, North Carolina State, Northern Iowa and Stanford.

In 2017, the Mocs placed 11th in the 23-team field. Oklahoma State won the event with a record 198 points.

The Southern Scuffle is considered “one of the best college tournaments outside the NCAA championship.”
