State-registered nursing students from Chattanooga State Community College helped over 150 homeless people during a recent wellness fair.

Student nurses from Hennie Gunter’s and Dr. Cheryl Miller’s classes provided services that addressed nutrition, hyperthermia and hypothermia, blood pressure education and readings, foot care, hand washing and dental care.

Massage Therapy students also gave back and neck massages.

The stations provided patrons with water, food, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, toothbrushes, toothpaste, toboggans, blankets, scarves, gloves and T-shirts.

Morning Pointe residents, Chattanooga First Christian Church members, Pruett’s Market, McKee Foods Corp., Coca-Cola and Walmart all chipped in to provide the items.

The wellness fair served approximately 161 clients.
