Longtime area resident Rosabelle Gorman announced she’s a candidate for the District 3 Hamilton County Commission seat.

A 20-year local resident and Realtor for Crye-Leike in Hixson, Gorman said she is eager to contribute to the community.

Gorman’s major areas of focus include:

  • Attracting high-quality employers who provide living wages for Chattanooga citizens
  • Offering equal public education opportunities for children in all areas of the county
  • Giving small local businesses the advantages they need for growth

Gorman managed and owned Brix Nouveau, a local wine bar, for two years.

“I have a unique perspective on the joys and challenges of running a small local business,” she said in a prepared statement.

Gorman previously worked for Volkswagen Chattanooga in budget/cost management and vendor relations for three years. She also has served as facilities/operation management for First Tennessee.

Gorman received a bachelor’s in business and organizational management from Bryan College and is a graduate of the Bill Holmberg Arts Leadership Academy.

She and her husband, Marshall, have a son. She is also part of a military family and has lived in many places nationally and globally.

“I can definitely appreciate what a wonderful place Hixson is to live, work and raise a family,” Gorman said in a prepared statement. “We need to keep our community’s identity while we promote responsible development here and throughout the county.”
