Chattanooga police are investigating a homicide/suicide that happened Sunday.

Below are the details CPD sent out.

Time of call: 10:24 a.m.
Incident: Shooting

Available Details:

On May 20 at 10:24 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 6405 Hixson Pike on a reported shooting. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:

Upon arrival, police located a deceased female lying in the parking lot from an apparent gunshot wound.

Also in the same parking lot, officers located a male seated in a vehicle suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Through investigation, it was determined that the male shot the female, then shot himself.

Hamilton County EMS personnel pronounced the female deceased at the scene.

HCEMS transported the male to a hospital where he later succumbed to his self-inflicted injuries.

Investigators determined the two deceased parties were divorced from each other.

Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are actively investigating this incident.

Suspect: Frederick Tragresser (male) DOB: 02-16-71
